Live edge or natural edge is a style of furniture and surfaces where the craftsman incorporates the natural edge of the wood into the design of the piece. Live edges are a great way to bring the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors into your home or office. Darin works diligently to discover and uncover all that Mother Nature has hidden deep inside the different varieties of wood found in the timbers of the northern Wisconsin area. The flaws and imperfections in an all natural wood slab are highlighted and appreciated in live edge furniture causing the wood itself to leave a lasting impression.

Darin has created many live edge tables, desks, shelves, and countertops over the years. He knows how to best choose materials and what to look for to get the most beautiful results. He buys most of his wood slabs from Kettle Moraine Hardwoods. But if you have a wood slab you want him to work with, he can do that too. Just be sure it gets kiln dried or it will have the tendency to split or possible warp when exposed to an indoor environment.
